Austin: Activities and Information Contrary
to popular belief, there is no tumbleweed going across
our streets, and we don't all have a farm with cows and
horses! Austin is a city anchored by one of
the most beautiful bodies of water: Lake Austin. Lake Austin provides
an escape from the fast paced world and a lot of fun for
students, locals, and visitors alike. There are
restaurants lined along the water, as well as some of the
biggest and most beautiful houses around.

As the state capital, Austin is
buzzing with news media and state officials at peak
times of the year. There are several attractions such as the newly built
Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum--conveniently located across the street from campus, the
Austin Zoo, and the natural
spring pool in the park--the perfect way to cool off.
Austinites take pride in the community and the
atmosphere of Austin. As a clean air city, we often have
ozone action days, and we all do our part by not pumping gas
or by taking the bus.
Austin provides a little something for everyone, but we
are probably most famous for 6th Street. This street hosts several
bars and clubs, open until the
wee hours of the morning and providing a number of venues
for people with different and discriminating tastes.
Austin is a melting pot; come down and visit and be a
part of this wonderful city.
