McCombs Admissions Committee Responsibilities

MAC participates in each aspect of the admissions process:

Attract applicants through participation in recruiting events, MBA Information sessions, business school tours, lunch with prospective students, and the class visit program.

Identify the top applicants by conducting campus Interviews and application review.

Select applicants by reviewing all received applications and recommending viable candidates. MAC's application review provides the admissions office with a student perspective. MAC comments on the quality of essay content and writing, strength of recommendations, leadership and teamwork experience, and overall fit with the McCombs School of Business. The final review of applications is completed by one of the professional admissions staff, and the Directors of Admission personally oversee the final decision.

In addition, MAC assists the admissions office in the following ways:

Walk In Traffic: Many prospective students stop by the admissions office in search of a current student with whom they can discuss the program. MAC members converse with applicants and answer any questions they may have.

E-Mail: MAC members respond to the numerous e-mails we receive every day from all over the world.

Phone: MAC members answer the frequent calls of prospective students.

Outreach: MAC members strive to contact each admitted student personally over the phone or through e-mail. MAC answers any questions about the program or anything else that might affect their decision to attend UT.
