Track Application Status
All applications to the Texas MBA program undergo a two-part process. The Graduate and International Admissions Center (GIAC) handles the initial processing, and the Texas MBA Admissions Committee conducts the application review and administers a decision.
CHECK
APPLICATION MATERIALS (GIAC) - Use this link to monitor receipt of test scores, transcripts and letters of recommendation. You can also manage your online recommendation requests (change recommenders, edit email addresses, resend requests). This status check also indicates when your application is forwarded to the graduate department (McCombs) for review.
VISIT APPLICATION STATUS CHECK– indicates the decision made on your application by the McCombs Admissions Committee.
GIAC:
GIAC is the main admissions office for graduate studies for UT-Austin. They primarily ensure that each application is complete and meets our graduate eligibility requirements. GIAC does not make admission decisions for the MBA program.
Important Information:
- It can take 2 weeks for an
application to go through the initial process at
GIAC.
Please allow ample time for documents to be registered on status check, especially during high volume times. - To ensure accurate application material matching, components received on a deadline may not register immediately but will be counted as received by that deadline.
-
Please do not e-mail us about any items missing - marked as “needed” - until two weeks has passed from your date of submission. Additional time may be required around deadlines.
“Application Forwarded to Graduate Dept.”: This message indicates that your application has been forwarded to the Texas MBA Admission Committee for review.
Admissions Committee:
The Admission Committee will typically begin their review in early November and will begin to make decisions toward the beginning of December. Decisions are usually made within 4 - 6 weeks after the application has been forwarded from GIAC, and the status check site will indicate when a decision has been made.
