New York City Chapter, Tony Rogers Honored at MMA Network Awards Celebration

Board Meeting
Holly Goodrich, MBA ’04 and chapter co-president, accepted the Outstanding Chapter Event Award on behalf of the New York Chaper.
The McCombs MBA Alumni Network and the Graduate Business Council hosted the third annual MBA Alumni Awards Celebration at the Intercontinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel Sept. 28, 2007.

Dean George Gau presented the Rising Star Award to Tony Rogers, BBA ’90, MBA ’97 and vice president of advertising at Wal-Mart. The award recognizes alumni who graduated from McCombs within the past 10 years and who have demonstrated distinguished professional success while working to strengthen the MMA Network.

Rogers previously held marketing positions at Pillsbury and Frito-Lay. At Frito-Lay, he served on the marketing recruiting team for several years and helped recruit Texas MBAs for the company. As a recent hire at Wal-Mart, Rogers is continuing his recruiting efforts at McCombs.

At the awards ceremony, Dean Gau thanked Rogers for his role in Wal-Mart’s decision to select McCombs as a core recruiting school for both undergraduate and graduate students.

In addition to recruiting, Rogers volunteers his time participating in various McCombs School activities, including judging MBA student challenge competitions and speaking in classes. Learn more about Rogers and why he is such a loyal McCombs advocate on page 40.
