MBA/Doctor of Jurisprudence

As the legal environment of business becomes ever more important and intense, those individuals with skills in both general management and its surrounding legal context have become extremely valuable. The MBA/Doctor of Jurisprudence Dual Degree Program trains qualified business and law students for careers in the private or public business sectors and the legal profession.

Students spend their first year in the program taking law courses and the second year taking graduate business courses. The final 2 years combine both disciplines. The two degrees are awarded at the same time upon completion of the requirements mandated by both degrees.

Degree Requirements

Students must complete a minimum of 116 credit hours of course work:

  • 28 hours of MBA core courses
  • 18 hours of MBA elective courses
  • 70 hours of required Law School courses

Note: In general, students in the Dual Degree Program will not be eligible to take the bar exam if they have more than four semester hours of course work remaining to complete either part of the Dual Degree Program.

The Dual Degree code for this program is 7 60516 and should be referred to when applying to the program. Please note that a minimum of two years of full-time work experience is required for admission to the MBA program.
