Micro-Consulting Projects

Throughout the calendar year, MBAs identify companies with which they want to work. Plus helps connect students to these organizations, regardless of the industry or location, by facilitating a micro-consulting project. The client will provide a current business question to be addressed. Plus provides each team with a budget and guides the team through the project management process. At the end of a 4 – 10 week project period, the team reports their findings and recommendations to their client, often traveling to the client’s location to do so.

What they say

"Our project with the Boston Consulting Group had the visibility of three partners, a principal, and project leader. Additionally, they even discussed having us deliver presentations to their clients. It is empowering to know BCG entrusted us with this level of responsibility and that we would be addressing an issue which truly affects their clients."

Norman Tang ’09, Project Lead for Boston Consulting Group

What they say

"The Texas MBA students delivered an excellent presentation today. With the little background information and briefing that they received, their presentation was in line with what we have planned internally. So it was reassuring to know we are on the right path in terms of harnessing new online technologies and networking platforms. In addition, they presented some very interesting creative ideas, one or two of which we hope to be able to implement for the launch of the new show with Cris Angel next year."

Anita Kelving, Director of Public Relations, Cirque du Soleil, Las Vegas Resident Shows
