Outbound Double Degree:
Texas MBA Students
The Double Degree Program offers Texas MBA students the unique opportunity to maximize their international education through the exploration and application of business concepts in a global context. Double Degree participants gain a competitive edge in business through direct exposure to the Asian, European or Latin American business environment.
Prerequisites
- Current enrollment in the full-time Texas MBA Program
- Successful completion of the first MBA year (31 hours)
- A minimum cumulative UT MBA GPA of 3.0
How to Apply
Students apply to the Double Degree program during the first MBA
year and go abroad during the second MBA year.
Application to the Double Degree Program is a two step process:
1-Apply for nomination by McCombs. On-line
applications are available in September each year.
Deadline:
Late October/early November
2-Apply to the Double Degree partner
school. Students accepted for nomination will then apply
directly to the partner school.
A nomination by McCombs does not guarantee acceptance into the
Double Degree partner school.
Degree Requirements
The average time required for completion of the Double Degree is two
and one-half years. Students must complete 37 graduate
business credit hours at the McCombs School of Business prior to
departure for the partner school including:
- 21 credit hours of first year Texas MBA core
- 15 credit hours approved electives
Language Requirement
Double Degree applicants must meet the language proficiency
requirements of the partner university. McCombs offers
opportunities for students to improve their language proficiency
through the
Business Language Options.
Program Expenses
Double Degree participants pay tuition to whichever school they
are attending at the time. The tuition & fees vary among the partner
schools. During each
semester abroad, students also register and pay for affiliated
studies ($400) at UT.
SYLFF Fellowship
McCombs students
nominated to the Double Degree program are eligible to apply for the
SYLFF
Fellowship administered by the
Center for
International Business Education and Research (CIBER). Awards of
up to $10,000 are awarded annually.
