Armed Forces Alumni Association The Armed Forces Alumni Association fosters camaraderie among MBA students who previously served, or continue to serve, in any nation's armed forces. The organization focuses on drawing parallels between the principles learned in the military and the skills required to be successful in business, in order to assist the member's transition into corporate America. Events include guest speakers and Think 'n Drink sponsorships. No membership fee.

Black Graduate Business Association BGBA is a source of information, direction and support for African-American MBA students at the McCombs School of Business, enhancing the academic, professional, and personal development of its members. BGBA strives to foster a sense of community through the social interaction of its members, community service, and spiritual development. In addition, we continue to build solid networks with all African-American organizations on the UT Campus.

China Business Association The China Business Association is dedicated to establishing and strengthening the business and cultural liaison between UT business students and China. The China Business Association works to improve the overall environment of Chinese Business students and provides networking opportunities among China-related business students, students from other schools, and alumni. The organization welcomes all students that are interested in China (either business or cultural). No membership fee.

CleanTech Group (Energy Technology Group) (CTG) The mission of the Energy Technology Group is to connect MBA students with industry and academia towards the goal of building a diverse, economically viable energy portfolio for the future. The Energy Technology Group will sponsor relevant activities and events, and serve as a hub for networking and information exchange. Our goal is to support our members' professional development by providing opportunities to gain experience in entrepreneurship, marketing, business strategy, and finance in the rapidly developing energy industry, connecting students with the businesses, investors, and experts that are driving innovation in energy efficiency, power production, and transportation fuels.

Consortium Fellows Business Association The Consortium Fellows Business Association is the University of Texas chapter of the Consortium for Graduate Studies in Management. Our parent organization, The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management is a fourteen-university alliance working to facilitate excellence in graduate business education.

Energy Finance Group The EFG is for students interested in careers in energy. In the upcoming year, we are planning three recruiting trips to Houston/ Dallas, sponsoring an invitational case competition, organizing an energy academy & projects for PLUS, and putting together a resume CD for recruiters. What is Texas without Energy? Membership fee: $35.

Entrepreneur Society (GRES) The Entrepreneur Society, one of the largest student-run organizations at McCombs, has as its mission the education and success of its members. Entrepreneurship is the driving force of the economy, and entrepreneurs work in many types of businesses. We strive to promote a unique understanding of business for members that focuses on identifying and acting upon new opportunities. In conjunction with the outstanding faculty and curriculum offered by the University, the Entrepreneur Society provides resources for the would-be entrepreneur to build the necessary skills for starting or growing a business. We produce events, find opportunities, and build resources for members to network with others for assistance, guidance, or to simply share their passion for creating a business. Membership fee: $50 (lifetime membership, t-shirt, and free membership in the Texas Entrepreneurship Network).

Excellence in Operations Excellence in Operations is the MBA organization for students interested in pursuing a specialization in Operations Management or who want to balance out their MBA’s with information on project management, supply chain, quality initiatives, and process procedures. Membership fee: $30.

Graduate Business Adventure Team The GBAT's consist of MBA students and faculty with an interest in triathlon, adventure racing, and other multi-sport events. Regularly scheduled activities include swimming at Baron Springs and Deep Eddy, group like rides (road and mountain), and participation in local racing events. GBAT's activities also include speakers to share information on nutrition, injury, treatment and prevention, and open discussions with "celebrity" multi-sport athletes. All skill/ fitness levels are encouraged to participate. Membership fee: $25.

Graduate Business Council (GBC) The Graduate Business Council (GBC) is the student government for all students enrolled in Master of Business Administration degree programs at the Graduate School of Business of the University of Texas at Austin. The mission of the Graduate Business Council is to provide a forum for students to directly impact administrative policy matters, while overseeing the development and maintenance of a strong sense of community and pride within the McCombs Graduate School of Business.

Graduate Business Wine Club The Graduate Business Wine Club was established to give students the opportunity to be educated in wines, network while tasting a variety of wines from different grapes and regions, and, among other things, occasionally meet to discuss the various aspects of the industry. The club has grown substantially since it began in 2003 and is always looking for new members to share their knowledge on the subject.

Graduate Circle Graduate Circle connects the whole McCombs community in an informal setting. The objective of the Graduate Circle is to enable students to enjoy different cuisines and stimulating conversations over dinner in the company of eight to ten Texas MBA, PhD students, faculty, or alums. The dinners are student or faculty hosted and cooked. Currently, Graduate Circle has over 100 members. Membership fee: $30 per semester for three dinners.

Graduate Consulting Group The GCG introduces Texas MBAs to the consulting industry through various programs including our Deloitte Consulting Case Challenge, CGE&Y Consulting Practicum, and case interviewing curriculum. Our members have access to top-tier management and technology consultancies and companies with internal strategy units, as well as various GCG interviewing tools, social events, and alumni lists.

Graduate Finance Association The GFA prepares students for various careers in finance, including corporate finance, investment and commercial banking, and investment management. The GFA is an excellent avenue to explore finance careers and to network with other students, alumni, faculty, and recruiters. The GFA sponsors the Texas MBA Finance Challenge, an exciting three-day open event in which teams of MBA students present solutions to a complex financial case study. The GFA also coordinates two trips to New York to meet with various firms. The GFA also plans a number of social events and several speaker panels over the course of the year.

Graduate Marketing Network (GMN) The GMN is an organization that helps students gain a better understanding of all aspects of marketing. As a member you can participate in Job Shops and other training opportunities to learn about various marketing roles, network with recruiters in a variety of settings (e.g., Marketing Challenge), and interact with students who have already gained experience in marketing fields. Membership fee: $40 (for two years and includes GMN gift).

Graduate Real Estate Society (RESC) The GRES is a student founded organization that works in coordination with the Center for Real Estate Finance (http://cref. Mccombs.utexas.edu) at the University of Texas at Austin to organize, educate, encourage, and assist students with future careers in real estate. The GRES enables students to network with other students interested in real estate, faculty, alumni, and recruiters in the real estate industry. Since its founding, the GRES has become one of the fastest growing and most widely recognized student organizations at McCombs. Membership includes inclusion on the all important GRES mailing list, which is the main source of both full time and internship employment for students interested in real estate. Membership fee: $40.

Graduate Women in Business (GBWN) The GWIB strives to provide an atmosphere conducive to the professional and personal development of its members. Its goals include the following: to improve the visibility of women at the McCombs School of Business, to offer career development resources to its members, to provide opportunities for its members to enhance the skills they need to remain competitive in the marketplace (like networking and golfing), to connect its members to articles and news stories that are related to women's issues in the workplace, and to promote a spirit of camaraderie among its members and women in the business community in a variety of social settings and events.

Hispanic Graduate Business Association The mission of the Hispanic Graduate Business Association (HGBA) is to enhance the Hispanic American and Latin-American student MBA experience by providing additional tools to develop your professional, academic, and social development. Additionally, we encourage all students interested in Latin America to join. The HGBA facilitates job search functions, helps build a contact network, promotes McCombs as one of the top business schools in the world and provides exposure opportunities with recruiters. We organize a trip to the annual conference of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, the largest fair for Hispanics in the country, as well as the International Business Challenge, the only interdisciplinary and international challenge in the MBA program. Membership fee: $40 for first year students (two year membership), $25 for second year students.

Indian Graduate Business Association The IGBA was formed to nurture a community of people interested in India and is committed to raising India's profile at the McCombs School of Business. It seeks to be a source of Knowledge on India and a forum for lively interaction between students, alumni, and business professionals. Membership fee: $15 for lifetime membership.

International MBA Student Association (GIMB) IMBASA helps international students become comfortable with American culture and in the Texas MBA community and promotes cross-cultural exchanges among US and foreign students. IMBASA also provides career opportunities and promotes the development of professional relationships with people all over the world. Membership fee: $25 (for two years). Special discount rates apply for exchange and double-degree students.

JD/MBA Association The University of Texas JD/MBA Association is a resource for students pursuing or interested in combined law and business degrees. We provide support for current JD/MBA students and seek to further develop the alumni network. Additionally, the association works with the administration of both the law and business schools at UT to improve the dual degree experience.

Jewish MBA Organization The JMBA Organization is primarily a social and networking organization. Our events provide an opportunity to learn about the Austin Jewish community, to meet other Jewish graduate students, to network with local Jewish business leaders, and to be involved with and aware of current events. Membership is free and open to all (Jewish and non-Jewish alike).

Master of Prof. Accounting Council (MPAC) MPAC organizes and runs the orientation for incoming MPA students, holds monthly community service events and socials, maintains relationships with alumni, and is the voice for MPA students at the McCombs School of Business.

MBA Card Club The MBA Card Club seeks to promote the understanding of card games (poker, bridge, etc) at the GSB as well as support students who are interested in the gaming industry. We plan on educating members through readings, tutorials, guest speakers, tournaments and organizational trips.

MBA Golf Association The Texas MBA Golf Association facilitates interaction in the McCombs community through the game of golf. In bringing together students, faculty, staff, alumni, recruiters, and business leaders, the association seeks to enhance the overall experience of the MBA program at the McCombs School of Business through 1) Member Support and Player Development 2) Innovative Recruiting and Networking Events 3) Special Events and 4) Community Outreach. MBA Healthcare Association The MBA Healthcare Association (MHA) was created for the McCombs community to facilitate establishing or extending careers in the healthcare industry. We aim to provide a forum where students can interact with each other and with leaders in the diverse fields that comprise the healthcare industry. Members share their interest and experiences regarding current issues facing those in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, hospital, managed care, healthcare consulting, and medical devices industries. Our mission: To educate members on career opportunities within the healthcare industry. To provide members the opportunity to interact with industry leaders, alumni, and current students to discuss current trends and issues in healthcare. To promote McCombs as a school with an emerging healthcare focus.

MBA Soccer The Texas MBA Soccer Club is for men and women of all skill levels who enjoy playing soccer. We meet every Friday for friendly soccer scrimmages. We also place teams in fall and spring intramural tournaments, a local city league, and national MBA invitational tournaments. Our biggest annual event is the Texas Winter Classic MBA Invitational Soccer Tournament (held in Austin), featuring MBA teams from top programs around North America and Europe. Membership fee: $30.

McCombs Admissions Committee (MAC) The McCombs Admissions Committee (MAC) at the McCombs School of Business offers a select group of trained MBA students an opportunity to immediately enhance the value of the Texas MBA by recruiting and retaining top applicants. MAC members are on the front-line for the McCombs School of Business Texas MBA Program. They add faces and personalities for the thousands of prospective students that visit the school, call, or write for information each year. The MAC seeks to establish a personal connection with each prospective student, applicant, and future McCombs MBA.

Mexican Business Association The Mexican Business Association was created to help MBAs from Mexico. Our mission is to further the value of the Texas MBA degree by strengthening Alumni participation, facilitating networking and finding job opportunities during and after the program. We also have several social events during the year. No membership fee.

Net Impact (GRNI) Net Impact is a network of 10,000 business leaders committed to using the power of business to positively impact social and environmental concerns throughout the world. As one of 90 student and professional chapters worldwide, the McCombs chapter of Net Impact is committed to integrating themes of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ethics in the McCombs curriculum and culture and offering students the resources, networking, volunteer opportunities and programming to help them integrate CST and ethics into their careers whether in the private or social sector. Texas MBA Hedge Fund Organization The Texas MBA Hedge Fund Organization is designed to allow members of the McCombs School of Business community to gain exposure to and learn about the ever-changing, intricate and sophisticated asset management strategies of hedge funds. Our goal is to educate members through sharing of ideas, information, and experience, and importantly, offer an opportunity to interact with individuals working in the Hedge Fund field. Venture Fellows Venture Fellows is a program, unique to the University of Texas, which places MBA students as interns in local venture capital, private equity, and start-up firms. Students work 12 - 15 hours a week throughout the year and attend classes for credit taught by industry practitioners. Venture Fellows is not a student club, but rather an organization founded and managed by Texas MBA students.
