Welcome to McCombs Global Connections China 2007!

The McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, in partnership with the Aetna School of Management at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, offers US and Chinese based companies MBA consulting teams to conduct research and identify opportunities and challenges of marketing products or services between the two countries.
UT-Austin and Chinese MBA students will jointly work on these projects, which can include investment analysis, market analysis, market segmentation, distribution channel analysis, competitor analysis, best- practice pricing, packaging or positioning strategies, human resources management, supply chain or procurement, or US-China office collaboration. This practicum offers students a global business learning experience focusing on international business challenges.
For the fifth year, we are including this practicum exposing our US students to doing business in China, and our Chinese students to doing business in the United States.

Program's Objective
The program's objective is to give US and Chinese MBAs a practical international business experience and to deliver a meaningful product to project sponsors.

This global program includes three components:
(1) six preparatory lectures on the cultural, socio-economic and political backdrop of doing business in China and several post-trip seminars
(2) a 16-day trip to China from March 2-17, 2007
(3) consulting projects for a private or public corporation doing business or wanting to do business in China

We intend to collaborate in the projects with student teams from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Aetna School of Management.
